San Francisco, CA -- March 18, 2010 -- SmileOnMyMac has released TextExpander 3.0.1, an update to its customizable typing shortcut tool for Mac OS X. With TextExpander, users can define abbreviations for frequently-used text strings and images, also known as snippets. When an abbreviation is typed, it expands automatically to the full snippet.
TextExpander 3.0.1 improves the behavior of the new "fill-in" snippets. A fill-in snippet can have multiple blank fields in the snippet content that prompt for additional information to be entered manually in a window that opens when an abbreviation is typed. The fill-in window now supports Cut, Copy, Paste, and Select All keyboard equivalents. Fill-in snippets can now incorporate automatic date snippets.
A number of other improvements and fixes have also been made in TextExpander 3.0.1.
A 30-day fully-functioning demo of TextExpander can be downloaded at
http://www.smileonmymac.com/textexpander/download.html. The price is $34.95. A Family Pack license is available for $44.95, which covers up to five computers in one household. Upgrades from earlier versions of TextExpander are $15.00, and free to users who purchased after November 1, 2009. Mac OS X 10.6 or later is required.
